Biman Bangladesh Airlines has temporarily suspended its regular flights on the Dhaka–Sylhet–Manchester and Manchester–Sylhet–Dhaka routes from 1 February. The decision has been attributed to an aircraft shortage, upcoming Hajj operations, and essential maintenance work on several aircraft.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the national flag carrier said the move was taken following a board decision to ensure the best possible use of the existing fleet and to maintain overall operational efficiency.

Biman said several aircraft are going into long-term maintenance, while additional planes will be required to operate Hajj flights. As a result, flights on this route will remain suspended until further notice.

To reduce passenger inconvenience, Biman assured that affected travelers would receive assistance under its existing policies. Options include alternative travel on the Dhaka–Sylhet–London route, date changes, and ticket refunds.

Passengers have been advised to contact Biman’s sales offices in Dhaka and London, its call center, or authorized travel agents for support.

Apologizing for the temporary inconvenience, Biman requested passengers’ cooperation and said information on the resumption of flights on the Manchester route would be announced in due course.
