The incident took place around 10:30am in Muktapur village under Baro Chatul union. The victim, Ismail Hossain Nabil, was the son of Abul Haris Uddin.

Officer-in-Charge of Kanaighat Police Station Aminul Islam confirmed the incident, saying that Nabil was attacked by his cousin, Islam Hossain, reportedly over a land-related conflict. Police rushed to the scene and are conducting operations to arrest those involved.

He added that both the victim and the suspect lived in the same neighbourhood.

Nabil’s body has been sent to the Osmani Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy. The main suspect has been on the run since the incident, and police operations are ongoing.
