A heartbreaking incident took place in Habiganj’s Nabiganj upazila where a three-year-old boy named Takarim drowned in a pond on Saturday morning. The tragedy occurred in Sherpur village under Kargaon Union. He was the son of local resident Shahidul Islam.
According to locals, around 10:30am, the child was playing near the house when he accidentally slipped into a nearby pond without anyone noticing. Family members, busy with daily chores, realised he was missing after some time and started searching desperately. Moments later, they found him floating in the pond. He was rushed to Nabiganj Upazila Health Complex, where doctors sadly declared him dead.
Police later visited the hospital, conducted an inquest, and confirmed the death. The entire village has been left in deep shock and mourning following the tragic loss.
